Welcome in VauvertVauvert, the town that is home to our agency, is located in south-eastern France. It is in the heart of the Costières de Nîmes vineyard in the Petite Camargue, which is situated in the Gard department of the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Vauvert is a typical example of a traditional agricultural town. The old town centre is still picturesque with its narrow alleyways. Located in the Petite Camargue, Vauvert is surrounded by untouched countryside and the municipal district is ranked among the third largest in Gard. Vauvert district consists of the town of Vauvert and the Gallician and Montcalm hamlets. In spring and throughout the summer, the sand resounds with the thunder of the pounding hooves of the bulls in the courses Camarguaise (bull running). Gallician is the gateway to the wildlife to be discovered in the vast stretches of the natural reed beds in the Petite Camargue. |

As you murmur the word MEDITERRANEAN, you will think about long beaches, with pale sand, sand dunes, and then… your mind will turn to a dip in the sea, water-sports and sun… It would be hard to dream up a more beautiful department, where, in just a few kilometres, visitors can find a variety of landscapes, numerous fine examples of architectural wealth and a typical and hearty welcome. It would be hard to dream up a more department where, in just a few hours, you can travel across the wild and scented vegetation of the Garrigue from the lush greenery of the Cévennes forests to the sunny beaches of Mediterranean? A true amphitheatre of greenness against the deep blue of the sea, the Gard is a captivating and complex department, which knows how to blend all its assets. Land of water, sand and salt, the Camargue appears to be impenetrable at first glance. Yet, it reveals its beauties to anyone who takes the time to discover it : a unique and protected wildlife, 20km of sandy beaches and sand dunes, a wonderful interlacing of ponds, surrounded by reeds and rushes, clayey lowlands covered by salt meadows, channels to float lazily along… And a rich and endearing culture where bulls and horses feature predominantly. |
