Traditionaly, the school week is 26 hours, attended over 5 days a week, with Wednesday free, but with Saturday mornings at school.
Since the mid 90s many schools have been permitted to operate a four-day week, ending attendance on a Saturday morning, but with a compensatory reduction in the length of the school holidays.
Pupils then study for 24 hours per week, 6 hours per day. Many schools have now adopted this practice.
