6. Visits

The cahier will set out the visit arrangements. In some cases it may be possible to freely visit the property, but more often than not, specific dates and times are offered when viewing can take place.

If you are not a building professional then you are strongly urged to take someone with appropriate expertise or experience with you.

It is also often useful to try and get a meeting with the notaire who will be able to give more information on the property and, in particular, a view about its market value.

In some cases you may even find that a full visit to the property is not possible, simply because it is occupied, possibly by unauthorised occupants. In such circumstances, you clearly need to take a view as to whether you really want the property.
