7. Complaints About Your French Electricity Supply



If you wish to complain about the service you have received from EDF (or other electricity supplier) then you need to take the complaint up with them in the first instance.

You can either do so by:
  • Ringing their Centre de Relation Clientèle whose telepone number is given on your electricity bill,
  • Writing to them at the address given on your electricity bill;
  • Visiting the area EDF office;
  • E mail their English speaking service at simpleenergywithedf@edf.fr
  • ; or
  • Ring them on 0810 070 333.

If you fail to get any joy then you should write to:


    Service National Consommateurs (SNC)

    EDF

    TSA 82120

    92919 La Defence CEDEX


The SNC are required to respond to your complaint with two months.

If matters remain unresolved you should send a complaint to:


    Médiateur national de l’énergie

    Libre réponse n° 59252

    75443 PARIS Cedex 09


The Médiateur should give their decision/recommendation within two months. Their decision is advisory only, so either party can choose to ignore it.

Nevertheless, the electricity supplier are required to inform the Médiateur within two months of the action they have taken on their recommendation.
