How Not to Annoy the French

Tuesday 01 March 2011

Best-selling author Stephen Clarke will be giving a talk on precisely how to do that at the French Village, A Place in the Sun Live.

Stephen Clarke is the popular author of the highly irreverent and amusing 'Merde' series of books about the French, first launched in 2004 with 'A Year in the Merde'.

Stephen followed this up with 'Talk to the Snail: Ten Commandments for Understanding the French', a useful book explaining how to get the best out of the French by understanding them and learning to live with them.

He also achieved major international success with his book '1000 Years of Annoying the French', an entertaining romp through the major historical events in France.

His forthcoming book 'Paris Revealed: The Secret Life of a City', will be published on 31st March. In the book Stephen gives us the insider’s guide to everything Parisians know about their city, but don’t want to tell you, including why Parisian men feel compelled to pee in the street!

Stephen will be doing his talk 'How Not to Annoy the French' and book signing at the 'French Village' between 1200 and 1330 hours on Sunday 13th March.

You can visit his website at Stephen Clarke.

Also present at the exhibition will be author Lucy Wadham

Lucy is the author of the hugely successful book 'The Secret Life of France', an autobiographical account of her marriage to a Frenchman.

Beyond her frank and sexy tales of Parisian life, Lucy offers a highly perceptive commentary on the French national psyche, and a fascinating insight into the reasons for the many differences between our two nations.

Lucy has also published a number of novels set in France, including 'Lost', which was shortlisted for the Macallan Golden Dagger Award.

She has lived in France for over 25 years.

Lucy will be answering questions and doing a book signing at the 'French Village' between 1200 and 1330 hours on Saturday 12th March.

You can visit her website at Lucy Wadham.

Free Tickets

A Place in the Sun Live Overseas Property Exhibition will take place at Earl's Court, London between 11th-13th March.

You can obtain free tickets at French Village London.

Advertise Your Property at the Exhibition

Do not miss out on this opportunity to advertise your property to an audience of French buyers at the largest overseas property exhibition in the UK.

The closing date for receipt of the advert is 7th March.

The private advertiser area of the French Village proved to be one of the most popular attractions at our Birmingham NEC event in October last year. We expect a similar level of popularity at our London event.

Use the online registration form below where you can sign up and create a draft advert in a matter of minutes.
