Franche Comte is an ideal location for those looking for walking, fishing and even horse-riding, combinated to nature discovery. Number of festivals are also celebrated in Franche Comte and play an important role as touristic attraction and promotion of the culture.

Franche Comte has a wide sample of beautiful historic buildings, some of them are even part of the UNESCO World's Heritage. Below are two famous places of interest not to pass by.

• Saline royale d’Arc et Senans: these royal saltworks are listed by the Unesco World Heritage. This former salt factory was designed by C.N Ledoux, a visionary architect and used to house the workers as well; it is referred as ‘the ideal small city'. This prestigious monument has been turned into a European centre for meeting and culture.
• Ronchamp chapel: designed by the famous architect Le Corbusier, the Notre-Dame-du-Haut chapel is a major masterpiece of contemporary sacred art. The site in itself is marked with a long tradition as it is located on a pilgrimage road. The monument is very picturesque, as are the surroundings.
