Languedoc Roussillon Geography

Languedoc Roussillon climate is generally made up of mild Winters and Summers. There are lots of regional variations depending on local conditions and terrains, and the Mediterranean actually modifies the weather of coastal locations.

France is mostly composed of flat plains or gently rolling hills. This region is really typical of France geography on this point of view but boasts many mountains (the Pyrenees on the south, natural border with Spain).

The following criteria are typical of Languedoc Roussillon geography:
  • valleys and hills
  • access to the sea on hundreds of kms of coasts
  • land with both mountain and the sea
  • many forests
