Poitou-Charentes Train Stations and Rail Network

To boost tourism the Poitou-Charentes region needs a good train network.

• The region boasts towns as well as a number of villages. The rail network is linking the region to the rest of France and to Paris in a quick, swift way.
• If you live close to London or Ashford, travelling by train is a real possibility. You can catch Eurostar at St Pancras, Ebbsfleet or Ashford stations and travel direct to Poitiers. For those who enjoy train travel and those who prefer to avoid airport stress, it is the perfect solution.
• A high-speed line is in project between Paris-Bordeaux. This means considerable amounts of money are being spent on this. Works should start in 2013, and would put Paris 1 hour or 1 1/2 hours from Niort and Poitiers.
