Add €185 pw for Fauvette. 2 luxury gites in converted barn : Fauvette sleeping 8, Souris sleeping 6. Both properties can be let as one unit via an internal inter-connecting door, sleeping 14 in all. Each has groundfloor and upper floor shower room/toilet and seperate groundfloor utility room with washing machine/ironing board/iron etc. Each gite has 3 double bedrooms, one with double bed and 2 with twin beds. 2 extra folding beds are available for Fauvette, the larger of the two gites, so that Fauvette can sleep 8 with comfort. All bedrooms overlook our heated pool, garden and unspoilt countryside of sunflowers, vines and undulating peaceful countryside. Each has bespoke French-style fully-equipped kitchen with large range of utensils, dishwasher, cooker, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave. Entertainment includes Satellite TV/Radio, HD DVD and expanding library, games/books and both gites are WIFI enabled (Broadband). Bed linen and bath towels are provided, and pool towels are available on request. Utilities are also included in the price. Change over is Saturday with check-in at 5 pm and check-out at 10 am on day of departure. A non-refundable deposit of 25% will secure the booking. The balance will be required 8 weeks before commencement of the rental period. A refundable Damage Deposit of €150 will also be required. Both gites have wood-burning stoves, making them ideal for cooler autumn/spring evenings and for winter lets for those house-hunting in the area. Each gite has its own private terrace overlooking the heated pool/countryside, with garden furniture/parasol/BBQ. Smoking outside only/ pets not permitted. Outside : Large 1.5 acre garden with 11x7m illuminated heated swimming pool, Boules Court/croquet/ frizbees/kite flying/ball games/outdoor table-tennis table, all set in a peaceful small hamlet with beautiful surrounding countryside, yet only 30 mins from Cognac and 20 mins from historic Angoulême with its' culture/cafés/bars/restaurants/museums etc. Local restaurants are at Mouthiers-sur-Boeme (4 mins) and Blanzac - 'Le Diapson' in Place de L'Eglise (9 mins). Both provide quality 3 course meals including a pichet of wine for €12. For a more romantic setting with Haute Cuisine, our favourite is 'Le Lavalette' at Villebois Lavalette (15 mins away). Booking recommended several days ahead to avoid disappointment. Visit http://www.lelavalette.com for a peek at what is on offer. Whilst Mouthiers-sur-Boeme provides basic needs for shopping, large supermarkets can be found at Villebois Lavalette (13 mins) and at Chateauneuf (20 mins) and La Couronne (15 mins). There is an abundance of activities in our area to suit a variety of pursuits - all within easy reach of the gites. Swimming, wind-surfing, sailing, boating, and fishing at Plan D'Eau (a 20 hectacre water area on the outskirts of Angoulême, 15 mins away), river cruises on the Charente at Angoulême (20 mins), cycling, go-karting, jet-skiing, wine tasting at our neighbours' vineyards, the major Bordeaux vineyards (1H30 mins away), golf at Cognac (35 mins) which is also famous for its cognac houses which cater for visitors and tastings, sight seeing at historic Angoulême with its' culture, museums, the home of Comic Strip, cafés/restaurants and boutiques (20 mins), Aubeterre-sur-Dronne with its canoeing/swimming and historic underground church (35 mins), canoeing/river cruises at Brantôme with market, cafés/restaurants and shops (35 mins), Velo-Rail at Roumazieres (50 mins), sandy beaches/zoo/aquarium at Royan (1H15mins). The famous Futurescope is 1H30 away (Poitiers). Airports served by low cost airlines are Angouléme (30 mins), Poitiers/Limoges/Bordeaux 1H30, Bergerac (1H40) and La Rochelle (2H00) away. The TGV stops at Angouléme, which links with Paris/Lille (2H20) and Eurostar to London.
