On your vacation in the Dordogne, there is a great deal to do. The Perigord, for example, is a region of prehistory, rich in archaeological sites and grottoes, like the famous caves of Lascaux. You'll also find historiccastles, medieval cities, and ancient walled towns (called 'bastides').

And as for gastronomy ! You can try the local wines and produits de terroir (country fare) in the markets, at ferme auberges and in traditional restaurants and those of haute cuisine. Bergerac's wonderful Saturday market overflows with fruit and veg., fish and cheese, jam and honey and all kinds of charcuterie. The wines of St. Emilion, Bergerac, and Monbazillac must be tried on a visit to the numerous vineyards.

The countryside around Bergerac is ideal for dozens of interesting day-trips---Les Eyzies, Rocamadour, Saint Emilion, Domme, La Roque-Cajac, Beynac, Sarlat, and many others. The sea is only a 2 1/2 hour drive away.

There are concerts, street fairs, wine and produce tastings and night markets. You can bathe in the lakes, go horseback or carriage riding, fishing or canoeing, play golf or tennis. You certainly won't wonder what to do!

You may be tempted to visit the ATLANTIC-COAST, ARCACHON in 2,5 hours away by car.

Lembras, the nearest local village, is 4 kilometers away, so a car is necessary There you can find the basic necessities (croissants, bread, milk and butter ). The area is well served with excellent shops and super markets and the gastronomic delights of local restaurants are famous. Every Saturday and Wednesday, Bergerac has a marvelous market of fish, fruits, vegetables and all kind of local produce.

30.06 - 25.08 2012 - 520 € per week
25.08 - 29.09 2012- 420 € per week
29.09 - 27.10 2012 - 350 € per week

A non – refundable deposit of 30 % is payable with booking, the balance due the day of arrival . A security deposit of 300 € will be required upon arrival and will be refunded in whole or in part at the end of the stay, after the apartment has been checked. Bedlinen provided.

Clients are asked to leave the Gîte in the same state of cleanliness as they found it on arrival, optional cleaning available at 50 Euro.

Changeover day : Saturday - Arrive after 4pm - Depart by 10am
