Renovated 17th Century Farmhouse with Pool

The Long House is a large restored farmhouse with pool set in a small tranquil hamlet in the Dordogne. It is a traditional French farmhouse, dating from the 17th Century, and is situated in the heart of the rolling hills of the Périgord with beautiful views of the local Château. The house features two original floor-to-ceiling fire places and exposed oak beams. The house is situated just 5 minutes drive from the medieval village of Bourdeilles and 10 minutes from Brantôme - the Venice of the Périgord.

It is a large detached stone house that was once two cottages dating from the 17th Century. The house is at the end of a country lane in the heart of the lush countryside of the Périgord Blanc, away from roads but not isolated. The pretty riverside village of Bourdeilles, with its medieval Château, small shops and restaurants is 3kms away. Brantôme with larger shops, famous restaurants, the oldest clock tower in France and a weekly market is 10kms away. Périgueux, the capital of the Dordogne, with its renaissance centre and a wide variety of restaurants, is 20kms away. 

The farmhouse is a detached property with approx 3000sq. ft area. It has four large bedrooms, three bathrooms (two en-suite with shower), a large country kitchen, dining room and a sitting room with a huge open fireplace. Outside there is a south-facing patio and also a covered veranda to provide shade on very hot days. The Long House has a swimming pool (8x4m), surrounded by mature landscaped gardens.
