The bungalow provides comfortable accomodation for up to 6 people. There are two bedrooms, the 1st with a double bed and the 2nd has two double beds. There is ample storage and hanging space. Both bedrooms have large windows that open overlooking the pool and terrace. The lounge has double doors opening out onto a sunny terrace overlooking the private pool. There is a log burning stove and adequate seating if you wanted to eat inside!!. Satellite TV is provided with free-to-air card. There is also a DVD player, video and stereo system. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, hob, fridge-freezer and microwave. All utensils are supplied. There is a shower room which houses the washing machine, this a typically French idea. The garden is fully secure and the private drive has parking for three or more cars. There are two terraces, one overlooking the pool that has full sun all day. The other is fully shaded and private. Both terraces have table and chairs and the pool terrace is equipped with sun loungers as well. The bungalow is in a very peaceful spot with lot's of different animal life to admire, these include lots of varities of birds, squirrels and we have even had the occasional deer in our drive!!. The local town of Casteljaloux is 2km's away and there are various bars and restaurants to choose from. There are 3 large supermarkets so there is plenty of choice. Casteljaoux is a town steeped in history and culture. There is a beautiful church and the tourist office is inside the Maison du Roy where both Louis XIII and Louis XIV have stayed. There are some original old buildings dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. There are twice weekly markets selling all the traditional French fayre including beautiful fruit and vegetables, lovely fresh cheese and bread, meat of every description and of course, wine!!. Just to the south of the town is the Lac de Clarens which is great for a family day out. Here you can fish, cycle, walk in the woods, hire a small boat, windsurf or just take a dip. There is a lifeguard on duty and there are shallow areas for children. The lake is man-made and it has sandy shores. There are a couple of bars and a restaurant so you are never far away from refreshment. Opposite the lake is an 18 hole golf course which is British run. You can play by round and do not have to be a member, there is a very nice bar and restaurant here also. Next to the golf club is a riding stable with beautiful horses for hire by the hour, all levels of ability are catered for. The town also has an olympic sized swimming pool and a newly opened thermal spa with a wide range of beauty treatments on offer. You can pay by the hour for the spa and it is a very reasonable price compared to UK prices for the same luxury. There are various different festivals throughout the holiday season and these are a good way to join in with the locals as they let their hair down. Casteljaloux is a small town with a fairly quiet night life but twenty minutes away is the larger town of Marmande and there are lots of bars,restaurants and night clubs for the if you require a something a little more lively.
