The nearest main town is Carhaix which is a 15 minute drive away and has all the facilities associated with a large town. There are many other villages and all types of sports, including water sports, horse riding, etc. Many sites and scenes of interest are around locally including the outstanding Lac de Guerledan, (20 min drive) the largest lake with a man-made beach in Brittany set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with paths for cyclists and walkers alike. There are 2 smaller lakes close by at Glomel (10 minutes) and Plouray (15 minutes) both have man-made beaches, boating, canoeing and other facilities too. The Nantes-Brest canal is easily accessible from the house with over 200 miles of path for walkers and cyclist; as are many other cycle paths locally. Every Sunday morning there is a small market at the local Abbey Bon Repose and every Friday evening in Summer there is an evening market in the main square at Mur de Bretagne both are very popular with French, English and holiday makers alike. Rostrenen has it's festival of dance for 4 days in August and throughout the Summer there is always something on at weekends. Rostrenen has its own small race course in the town which is a lively affair on meeting nights! Through the front door you will find: Entrance Hall Separate Downstairs W.C. Kitchen/Dining Room (7.5m x 3.3m) kitchen, wood floor. Lounge (4m x 4m) wood floor, satallite dish receives all English TV programmes. Upstairs: Landing with bookshelves and small storage space.
