The picturesque market town of Pontrieux 4 miles away is very popular with visitors and sailors alike, as it lies at the head of the Trieux river with its Port, opposite which is the Train station and during the summer you can take a nostalgic ride on an old steam train, and enjoy breathtaking scenery as you pass alongside the Trieux river passing the Chateaux La Roche Jagu perched dramatically on the cliffs high above the river to its destination of Paimpol.  Pontrieux with its wealth of historic architecture has an abundance of craft workshops, antique shops and art galleries.   Also numerous shops, restaurants, banks, Post office and everyday shopping needs are well catered for. The Coastal town of Paimpol with its good selection of Boutiques, supermarkets, and wealth of harbour-side restaurants is a popular port for visiting yachtsmen and tourists from all over Europe.  Guingamp approx 20 minutes drive away with its main line rail link for the TGV fast service to Paris is another excellent shopping centre.  . The ferry ports of  St. Malo and Roscoff are 90 and 50  minutes away and Airports of Dinard and Brest both approx 80 minutes drive. The wonderful beaches and spectacular coastline of the Cotes d’Armor, Brittany are all within easy reach of the cottage and there are many signposted coastal paths and cycle ways to enjoy and explore.
