La Lavande is one part of a large longere at La Morinais in the commune of Eance midway between Rennes and Angers.  The accommodation has been recently renovated and offers very high standards of comfort.  The living area downstairs is open plan with tiled kitchen area fully equipped with modern appliances.  The lounge area has English satellite TV, DVD player and a cosy log burning fire for the cooler months of the year.  Wi-fi broadband connection is available.  Adjoining the living room is a utility room which leads to a separate toilet with wash-hand basin.  The upstairs accommodation comprises three bedrooms, one double bedded, one twin bedded and one single.  The bathroom is fitted with hydro shower cabinet, toilet, wash-hand basin with marble topped vanity unit and large mirror, and electric towel rail.  The living room and all bedrooms are fitted with electric radiators.

La Morinais, with its quiet rural location is 2 kms from the village of Eance with church, boulangerie and vibrant bar restaurant.  Moving away from the village, local visits might include:

Martigne Ferchaud: an appealing small town, a short distance away, with many facilities.  The lake 'Etang de la Forge' is a must for nature lovers and provides walks or cycle rides both short or long.  Each summer the truly memorable night-time show by the lake - 'Les Etincelles Aquatiques' - attracts visitors from many parts of France and abroad; in 2008 the show will run from 7-9 August - not to be missed!  La Guerche de Bretagne: La Guerche, a small town with 11th Century origins, has a thriving market on Tuesdays, a small park, supermakets and indoor swimming pool.  Chateaubriant: visit the 11th Century chateau and discover the old town or visit the market on a Wednesday.  Pouance: a small town with ancient chateau, market on Thursdays, superb lake setting with beached area for summer bathing, watersports with bar/cafe on site.  Vitre: another historic town with chateau which stages a night-time 'son et lumiere' show in summer.  Discover the quaint wood clad shops and houses in narrow streets.  Esse: 'La Roche aux Fees', a megalithic site, is a striking monument. - some 4500 years old.

Rennes: a visit to this ancient city is highly recommended.  Leave your car on the south side of the city and take the metro direct to the historic city centre.  The Saturday market is one of the largest in France and is vibrant at all times of the year.  Angers:  another historic city on the Loire with Saturday market.  Laval: a charming old city with chateau and cathedral on the River Mayenne with Saturday market.  Ancenis: this area on the Loire with its beautiful scenery offers ample opportunity for wine tasting and purchase. Mont St Michel: within 1.5 hours.  La Baule within 1.5 hours
