HISTORY
Approach to the property is along your own private driveway opening out onto the courtyard at the front of the property with an open barn to your right, which was the original mairie for the village and is now an open barn for parking and storage. To your left is an original stone building, built in 1722, half of which was orignally a prison and the other half was accommodation for people with contagious diseases who were fed through a small hole in the wall, for fear of catching the disease, which is still in existance. The main house is directly in front and was orignally a monastery, dating from 1696, and still contains many features such as the look out hole used to observe over the waters during the catholic/protestant war. Above the entrance doorway are some original markings the first part of which indicate that whoever lives in the house will be protected and live peacefully and the second part indicates the person who hand carved the stones. Due to its history, photos and details are displayed in the local mairie.
