Charming country cottage, newly converted from a barn, situated on a very small rural road in open countryside. The house is located near to the village of Palinges and about 10 minutes from the tourist and pilgrimage town of Paray le Monial at the southernmost tip of Burgundy.

Paray-le-Monial is an attractive town set in the rolling landscape of south-western Burgundy on the banks of the River Bourbince. It is easily accessible, being 2hours from Lyon, 3 hours from Geneva, 30 mins from the TGV station, and less than 60Km from the autoroute A6
It is an important pilgrim town following the apparitions of Christ to a nun, Saint Margaret-Mary Alacoque during the 17th century and continues to attract 100,000 pilgrims each year and overall more than 1000000 visitors per year.
The town has many attractions, the most significant which makes it both an unmissable part of the tourist trail (it attracts more than 1 million visitors each year) and an important pilgrimage centre - the Basilica du Sacré-Coeur.
Other significant attractions include:The Town Hall; The Chapel of the Visitation - this 17-19th century chapel was built where Saint Marguerite-Marie Alacoque saw the apparition of the heart of Jesus: The Saint Nicholas Tower; The Chapel de la Colombiere; Museum of Hieron
Other nearby attractions include the vineyards of both Burgundy and Beaujolais, with the nearest being the Maconais. In addition to the major vineyards, there are also a number of small local winemakers where you can talk to the winemaker himself. For the young, the theme park of Le Pal is only about one and a half hours away. The historic spa town of Vichy (home of the wartime government) with its magnificent opera house is also relatively close.
The house is newly restored, and has not been lived in since restoration, hence all the kitchen fittings, bathrooms, water heating system, and wood burning stove are brand new and unused. It comprises a small entrance vestibule, large high ceiling lounge, kitchen/diner, bathroom and bedroom on the ground floor, with a further bedroom with en suite shower/toilet, and a mezzanine veranda on the first floor. The house is very private, sitting in its own grounds of over one third of an acre. There are no houses on the other side of the access road, nor to the south or east of the property.
