Restored artisan cottage in South Touraine

This cottage dates to 1822 and is located in a beautiful village in the South Touraine. It is a 45-minute drive from Tours Airport. We have completed extensive works on the exterior, which now reflects the fittings and original appearance of the cottage. The cottage is now listed by the Fondation du Patrimoine – an organization responsible for the national heritage. The works included reroofing using the original tiles, and sanding and repairing the masonry. At the ground level there is ample room for a kitchen and a living/dining area. In the attic there is room for a bathroom and bedroom. The attic is lit by velux windows and a French window. The original terracotta tiles have been cleaned and relaid. The cottage requires rewiring, installation of stairs and some plasterwork. The area is famous for its wine, its chateaux and for the purity of its spoken French. As an artisan cottage located at the centre of the village it has no garden, making it an ideal and low-maintenance pied-à-terre in the heart of France.
