Location


Fitou is a world famous wine village with numerous caves, three excellent restaurants and a very popular pizzeria. There is every opportunity to sample and purchase the renowned Fitou wines. The village has much character with a thriving, friendly community. There is a boulangerie, post office, tabac, hairdresser and supermarket, all within easy walking distance from the Domaine. Tennis and football facilities are also available. There are numerous walks in the surrounding hills providing stunning views of the mountains and coast. During the summer months there are numerous wine and food festivals with live music, dancing and entertainment provided.


Fitou is situated approximately 20 minutes from Perpignan and 30 minutes from Narbonne. It is just 10 minutes from the A9 Autoroute.


Leucate, a typical Mediteranean coastal town, is a 10 minute drive with more extensive facilities including banks, restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket and shops.


The nearest beaches, La Franqui and Leucate Plage, are less than 15 minutes by car. The nearby salt water lagoons are famous for their oyster beds. These, with other local seafood, can be sampled at numerous restaurants throughout the region.


The area is renowned for it’s uncrowded sandy beaches, vineyards and medieval castles. It is an hour’s drive to Carcassonne, Collioure, Ceret, the Pyrenees and Spain. Outdoor activities include swimming, water sports, sailing, scuba-diving and windsurfing. There are numerous walks in the nearby Corbiere hills and the Pyrenees. Ski resorts are less than a two hours drive.


The warm Mediterranean climate has over 320 days of sunshine annually and the air is clean and fresh. The Languedoc-Roussillon region is the warmest and driest part of France. It is the also largest wine producing region.


Ryanair fly from many UK airports to Perpignan, Carcassonne and Gerona. FlyBe also fly from Southampton to Perpignan. Toulouse, Montpellier and Barcelona airports are also easily accessible.


A new TGV service, stopping at Perpignan, is currently under construction which will enable high-speed rail travel between Paris and Barcelona.
