Our house is an authentic French Gite located at the centre of a beautiful concentric village in sunny SW France. The house has a secluded roof terrace which has 360 degree views of the vineyards and foothills of the Pyrenees which surround the house.

It’s located near the town of Carcassonne with its famous medieval castle, the Mediterranean beaches, the Spanish border (Barcelona 3hrs drive) and the Pyrenees.

The house runs over three floors with two large double bedrooms, newly fitted kitchen and bathroom, living room with separate dining area and open fire.

River or lake swimming, spring baths, kayaking and cycle hire are all within very easy reach as well as the numerous walks amongst the vineyards that surround the house. The spring water pool at Alet les Bains is 15 minutes from the house. The natural, thermally heated pool at Rennes les Bains and the beach at Carcassonne are both around 30 mins away.

The nearest town of Limoux sits on the river Aude and centres around a large town square which is bordered by bars, cafes and restaurants and hosts the town’s lively market every Friday. It's famous for producing the sparking white wine, Blanquette de Limoux, and is dotted with vineyards which all provide wine tastings. You can find more information on Limoux at www.limoux.fr

The house is a perfect base for reaching the many castles of the Cathar Country. The ancient Abbey at St. Hilaire is located in a neighboring village. Anyone interested in the history behind the DaVinci Code may also be interested to visit Rennes les Chateaux which is located nearby. The Chateaux at Arques is also in the adjacent valley. The house is easy to get to. The international airport at Toulouse is 100km away which is regularly serviced by British Airways amongst others.

Ryan Air also fly regularly from the UK and Ireland into Carcassonne airport which is only 30 minutes drive from the house. Flights to Carcassonne leave from London Stansted, Liverpool, East Midlands Airport, Dublin, Shannon and Cork as well as from Charleroi Airport in Brussels.
