The area has easy access to Spain; it takes about an hour by car to the boarder and about an hour and a half to the Pyrenees where you can ski in winter or mountain walks in summer. Why not ride the Pyrenees tourist train through the mountains for a day out to Andorra.  The beaches between Perpignan and Narbonne have soft sand and are all easily accessible by car. You can hunt for the Holy Grail at Rene le Château, just one of the many Chateaus or you can visit the impressive Cathar castles and the ancient walled city of Carcassonne all make an excellent day out, to name just a few. Why not white water raft, canyon, rock climb or jump off Mont Tauch and see the area from a hang glider. There are two pools open to the public at Tuchan and the river runs through the village of near by Paziols for swimming.
