The location
Lezignan la Cebe is a lovely typical Languedoc village 5 minutes from Pezenas. The latter is a small and pretty medieval town which appears to be caught in a time warp with a vast array of beautifully preserved buildings, antique shops, cobbled streets, quiet courtyards and beautiful period architecture. It has a total of 70 historical listed buildings. Once home to 17th century playwright Moliere, the theatre tradition and artisans carry on living with year-round performances, workshops and late-night craft markets. Pezenas’s mild winters, year round market, long warm summers, medieval heritage, and urban sophistication make it the perfect place to buy a second home, close to the Mediterranean. Like many small towns in the region, it has a vibrant wine industry, but also a sweet industry to visit. Apart from sightseeing and visiting, this old town offers many theatres and cinemas. Within a short drive of Pezenas there is a plethora of must see destinations including sandy beaches, wooded hills and valleys old market towns, thriving fishing villages and quaint vineyards.
