  • Just outside the terrace bedroom door is a full bathroom with tiled glass door shower, large heated towel bar, wall-hung toilet and tiled sink.

  • The double bed front bedroom has wood floors, wood beamed ceiling and full ensuite bathroom with a tub with tile surround, vanity with sink and tile backsplash and heated towel bar and toilet.

  • The bedrooms and bathrooms are heated and the hall has a central heating and air conditioning unit.


Second Floor



  • The intimate single bed terrace bedroom features a wood floor, exposed stone walls and sloped beamed ceiling and beautiful views of the town and the vineyards beyond.

  • The fourth bedroom/study with single bed is bathed in light by high clerestory windows also has a sloped ceiling exposed stonewalls and wood floor.

  • The bathroom has a large curved glass multi-jetted shower, tiled vanity and toilet and is between both bedrooms.

  • A large attic storage area is accessible from the fourth bedroom/study.

  • The bedrooms are heated and the hall has a central heating and air conditioning unit.


As with all of our houses, Maison La Liviniere is thoughtfully appointed with an eclectic mix of traditional and antique furnishings, new appliances, bedding, linens and house wares selected to make your stay effortless.


Exploring the village: Within an easy stroll from the house are two wine caves, a weaver’s studio, post office, pharmacy, bakery and a well-stocked small grocery store, which offers some English newspapers, for your everyday needs. Rumor has it that some of the staff of our favorite local restaurant in Aigne will be opening a restaurant in town after the first of the year. On Wednesday and Thursday mornings, mobile markets for fish and poultry are available at the central square. For additional needs, the nearby town of Olonzac has banks, restaurants, antique shops, bakeries, specialty shops, petrol, supermarkets, and a large Tuesday morning fresh food market.


Gateway to southern France: For wine lovers, a trip to the neighboring village of Siran to the Maison du Minervois, the center for Minervois wines, is a must. If you crave warm sandy beaches, the Mediterranean is about 45 minutes by car, for swimming and windsurfing; Lac Jouarres is only 10 minutes drive. If you prefer the tranquility and beauty of the World Heritage Site, the Canal du Midi is easily accessible from many locations including the quaint canal side village of Homps where you may enjoy canal side dining or arrange a barge cruise to explore the 240 kilometer canal. The historic towns of Beziers, Narbonne, and the fairy tale walled city of Carcassonne are 30 minutes from La Liviniere. The last stronghold of the Cathars, the spectacular village of Minerve is 15 minutes from the house. Toulouse is 90 minutes away. Skiing in the Pyrenees and Spain are within 2 hours and in an additional hour you can explore Barcelona.


Getting to your dream home: From Charles de Gaulle Airport, go to the train station in Terminal 2, board the TGV and in just over 5 hours your are in Narbonne. By air you can fly Ryanair to Beziers or Carcassonne. Air France, British Airways, easyJet, Flybe and Jet2 fly into Toulouse. Car rentals are available at all of these locations. From the house to Charles de Gaulle Airport by autoroute is about 8 hours depending on traffic around Paris.
