Le Pâtural is a country holiday home situated at the edge of a peaceful hamlet in the heart of the beautiful Limousin countryside.    
 
 The house is set in its own garden with off-lane parking, a terrace in dappled shade, a hammock slung between two of the trees and access to a 10 x 5 metre solar-heated swimming pool with its sunny terrace, solar-heated poolside shower, sun loungers and spectacular views over fields and woods.   The pool is shared with us, the owners, and has a pool alarm for safety.   In summer the pool regularly reaches a comfortable 25-32 degrees.
 
The accommodation is for up to 4 people with a comfortable living/dining room and modern kitchen, a newly-refitted shower room en-suite to the double room and a separate washroom, all on one level (there are no steps or stairs).
 
The kitchen is equipped with a big fridge and dishwasher, ceramic hob and electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and everything you need for self-catering.    The living room provides a huge sofa, a dining table and chairs, a TV receiving British free-to-air channels, a DVD player, CD player, various games, cards and books.    A wide set of French doors lead out to the terrace under the dappled shade of the silver birch, with table and chairs for dining al fresco by the barbeque.   The double bedroom provides a very comfortable kingsize bed, and there are twin beds in the second bedroom.    The washroom contains a WC and washbasin, also an automatic washing machine.  A cot is available.
 
The quiet lanes around the hamlet are ideal for walking or cycling, with many picnic spots alongside the two rivers nearby.   The nearest village shop is just 3km away, with Bussière Poitevine at 4km providing cafés, small supermarkets, bars and a restaurant, a bank and several shops.   The lovely medieval city of Le Dorat with its cafés, shops, restaurants and a cinema (and porcelain factory shop!) is just 10 minutes’ drive away.  
 
Travelling just a little further you can explore Bellac and Montmorillon with its Cité de l’Ecrit (city of writing).  Limoges and Poitiers, both well worth a visit, are about an hour’s drive, and there are many picturesque towns and villages, markets and summer fêtes, the Blond ‘mountains’ and Lake St. Pardoux for days out.  
 
 The N147, the main road between Poitiers and Limoges is 4km away, and the A20 motorway is only about 20km.   The nearest airports are Limoges (about 50 minutes) and Poitiers (about 1 hour) which operate with Ryanair and Flybe from several UK airports.   Car hire is recommended to enable you to explore the area, and can be arranged for collection at the airport.   The TGV trains run to Poitiers, from where the local trains operate to Le Dorat.   One suggestion for a great day out is to catch a train (clean, comfortable and on time!) from Le Dorat to Limoges for lunch, shopping and exploring the historic city.
