Description

Holidays, fly fishing and house-hunting in the Limousin.

Le Petit Verger (The Little Orchard) is a charming gite situated in the Parc Natural régional Périgord-Limousin, just 40 minutes from Limoges airport. Ideally placed in South West France for holidays, fishing and house hunting in the Haute-Vienne, Dordogne and Charente regions.

The gite is detached, sleeps 2 people, and is completely self-contained with UK television, WiFi, safe parking and private gardens.

We provide self catering accommodation of a high standard in a quiet French hamlet near St Mathieu in the Haute Vienne, where you can enjoy the delights of the French countryside, its relaxing atmosphere, good food, wine and beautiful weather. You will find many quiet peaceful areas locally to roam on foot or by car with outstanding views and wildlife.

The Haute-Vienne region of France is famous for Cèpe mushrooms, chestnuts, Limoges pottery and of course the Limousin cattle.

Many airlines now fly regularly into Limoges Airport from London, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow and Southampton.

We can give house hunters advice based on our experiences in the region and have contacts with local estate agencies.
A great many estate agents in this region are bi-lingual and will happily spend time with you to find the property that you require. Many people who have stayed here in the Haute-Vienne, have fallen in love with the region and found their French dream here. We have a range of books relating to living and working in France, buying and renovating French property and local maps

In addition to accommodation and a friendly welcome we offer professional fly-casting tuition and tackle hire/sales. Tony holds the S.T.A.N.I.C.qualification in trout fishing and is registered and insured to teach in France whilst being one of the few UK qualified fly fishing/ fly casting instructors in France.

Our guests can now enjoy fly fishing at an exclusive, private and well stocked lake just a few minutes drive from our base here. More details are on our website.

The Limousin and Perigord region has been likened to the Cotswolds. Green and full of picturesque, lakes, rivers and valleys. Woodland with many walks and rambles.

Perigueux, the capital of the Dordogne is about 1 hour away by car. Superb French architecture and small winding streets full of shops and bars combined with a stunning river and view across the region. We are 20 mins from historic Rochechouart. There are local markets at Piegut and Chalus, the Piegut market is one of the largest in the region and fills the entire town on a Wednesday.

If you like fishing, we can offer tackle hire, tackle sales and advice on where to fish, day and holiday licences and professional fly fishing tuition. Please visit our site for further details www.flyfishinginfrance.com.

There are some truly beautiful walks local to us, taking you off winding country lanes through woods, fields and tracks. Local restaurants and bars offer superb value for money meals. Throughout the year there are various, fetes, brocantes and car boot sales. It is very easy to full a week with things to do here and still find time to relax.

Garden furniture and a BBQ are provided for you and two pushbikes are available for no charge (these are ridden at your own risk). Changeover day is usually Saturday although whenever possible we can be flexible. We will normally accept bookings on any day of the week as we realise that cheap flights do not always correspond with the dates that you would like. Please contact us for your requirements and we will do our best to help out. All towels and bedding are provided, as are complimentary bottles of red and white wine.

Normal takeover time for the gite is 4.00 p.m and departure time 10.00 a.m. However, whenever possible we can be flexible on these hours. A non-refundable deposit of 25% is usually required to reserve the gite with the balance being paid 6 weeks before your arrival. If time does not permit these arrangements, other arrangements can always be made.

Rates / Pricing Information: To see our full price structure and booking page with AVAILABILITY CALENDAR please visit www.flyfishinginfrance.com. Thanks. If you have specific requirements regarding the time and length of your stay, please e-mail us and we will see if we can help you.
