Cottage with pool and lake- Reference LAMB1345

The cottage is situated in the Haute-Vienne, in the heart of the truly picturesque countryside of the Limousin, yet within only 5 mins from the A20. The Haute Vienne is a department where traditions are still very much part of daily life.  A particular attraction lies in the variety of its landscapes, which range from wooded slopes of the Basse-Marche to the rugged peaks of the Grands Monts.  Here you can savour the beauties of nature at a leisurely pace on foot, on horseback or by bicycle, and on the way discover the picturesque charm of the little known villages such as Mortemart, Blond and Nedde. You will be surprised by the number of Romanesque chapels, fortified churches, chateaux and sturdy castles, not to mention the warm hospitality of the regions many family-owned inns. Of course a visit to Limoges is essential.  The capital of the Limousin region and famous for its fine and unique porcelain. Only 10 km (10 minutes) from the nearest town of La Souterraine which has all necessary amenities including a supermarkets (2), banks, post office, chemists and bakers, and a selection of bars and restaurants.

Watersport enthusiasts will find all they need in the well-equipped beached lakes to utilise their energy, or just relax.  Many lakes being ideal locations for fishing as are the lovely rivers in the area.

The cottage is set on the banks of the river Brame in 1 acre of grounds and gardens with a delightful lake and exclusive use of the heated swimming pool (9m x 4m) and is in a totally secluded setting with shrubs and grassed areas for total relaxation. The discreet owners also live on site in the Moulin.

The centrally heated accommodation consists of a traditionally large beamed farmhouse type kitchen, fully equipped with washing machine, electric oven and hob, fridge freezer and microwave, table and chairs.  There is a separate dining/lounge with country furnishings, wood burning stove, TV for video only and DVD player.There is another separate sitting room downstairs with wood burning stove.On the first floor there is a double bedroom with shower cubicle, and 2 x twin bedded rooms, a family bathroom with low level bath, shower cubicle, electric heated towel rail and separate toilet.  There are large gardens laid mainly to lawn, a shaded patio area with garden furniture, B.B.Q. and riverside views.

The lake is available to those who might wish to fish and you will find Carp to 15lb, Rudd, Roach, Perch and Gudgeon.  The wildlife is amazing with deer in the forest, wild boar, herons, buzzards and kingfishers skimming the water.  What more could one want!!!!

How do I get there?

The location of the cottage is 5km (5 mins) drive from the A20 (which is part of the main route through from Orleans to Toulouse). You will need to exit at Junction 23 heading for Magnac Laval. By air there are now direct flights from Stansted, East Midlands, Southampton and Liverpool to Limoges, being operated by Ryanairlines and Flybe and there is car hire available at the airport.  Limoges airport is approx 40 minutes drive.
