The perfect two-person gite for a holiday or short break at any time of the year. Adjoining the main house, the gite forms part of an old barn. It has two floors; the upper floor enjoying lovely views across the gardens and neighbouring fields. The king-sized bed lies beneath exposed beams, with en-suite facilities and walk-in wardrobe close at hand. Downstairs, there is a well-equipped kitchen and living / dining room, with a heater for lets in the cooler parts of the year. Through the French windows, visitors step onto a small private terrace with comfortable outside furniture, ideal for relaxing in the sunshine or eating al fresco, overlooking the gardens. Within half an hour: • Sandy beaches • Mont St Michel, the unmissable medieval abbey and fortress. • Fougeres, with its wonderful medieval castle. • St Hilaire, which has one of the best weekly markets in the area. • Granville, a lovely coastal town and harbour. • Villedieu, home to bell foundries, copper and lace making. • Bayeux, home to the world’s most amazing tapestry. • The landing beaches of the allied invasion of June 1944. • Falaise, home of William the Conqueror. Within an hour: • St Malo with its walled town. • Dinan, a splendid medieval town with shops and museums. • Rennes with its wonderful streetscapes of half timbered buildings. Activities Quiet by-roads are a haven for cyclists, and walkers have a choice of hundreds of well-marked pathways in and around the Manche region.
