Our comments

This is a lovely old chateau which has in the last year been totally
refurbished.

Downstairs there is a newly fitted kitchen with cooker, fridge etc. all of which stays with the house. This leads on to the dining room, all freshly painted, and a cloakroom and toilet in the hall.

There is a beautiful lounge fitted with a wood burning stove. Then through the hall there is another room, the salon, with a marble fireplace and fitted cupboards. To the back of the hall is the large and very useful laundry room.

Up the old staircase to the first floor are 5 bedrooms. Then on up again to what were once the attics and are now another seven bedrooms. The house now has also seven new bath/shower rooms. Five of them are en suite. The other two are for general use.

There is a cellar the size of the ground floor of the house which houses the oil fired central heating boiler and the two oil tanks.

Outside there is a large garden with mature trees and fruit trees.

There is a garage and stabling to the left of the house and room enough for a swimming pool. To the rear of the house is a stream which marks the boundary, and an old lavoire (washhouse) which is in need of renovation.

The walls in the bedrooms are being left in plain colours so the new purchasers can put their own touches to the house.

The roof has been done and there are all new zinc guttering and
down pipes.

The front and gable ends of the house have been rendered and painted a nice sandy colour. The back of the house is stone apparent.

This is a perfect house for a large family, or very suitable as a
Bed & Breakfast. It is in the village but very private with a
rhododendron drive up to the Chateau and high hedging all around the property. It is a village with all amenities: 2 doctors; a bank;
Post Office; small grocery store; ironmongers; electric shop; baker etc.

Note: An adjoining property, 3 bed/3 bath converted barn set in 1.04 hect (2.48 acres)with lake and stream is available for 190.000 euros plus Notaire’s fees
