La Provençal is a popular child-friendly gite with 2.5 acre hilltop gardens just 10 mins from Cahors in the Lot, south west France.

It is mainly on one level with a few steps down to a lovely cool stone-walled bedroom.

The entrance is off a central courtyard into the main openplan living/dining room. The kitchen is separate from the main living area by an oak-topped bar with bar chairs. There are exposed beams and tiled floors, plenty of comfortable seating including a sofabed, dining seating for six, a widesceen TV with English freeview channels and radio, french TV, a Playstation1 with selection of ganes, a DVD player and stereo with ipod dock. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay including a washer dryer.

The shower room is accessed from the living area as are the two bedrooms: a double bedroom with amazing views across the hills and a large, stone-walled twin room where the beds can be joined to give a kingsize bed. This room also has a double futon should you prefer to use this instead of the sofabed in the living area. There is plenty of storage and fans and hairdryers in both bedrooms.

You have exclusive use of a south-facing terrace with wooden table and chairs, a pergola and BBQ.

All bedding, linen and towels (including pool towels) are included in the price. A baby pack comprising travel cot, bath and highchair is available foc. Bikes and a mobile air conditioner are available at extra cost should you need them.

The 11x5m saltwater swimming pool is shared with the secong gite and has amazing views. On one side are roman steps for easy access and the surrounding terrace has a solar shower, table tennis table, sunloungers and parasols. The pool is both fenced and alarmed.

Children will love the play area with a sandpit, swings and chalet.
