Description

If you want a ‘move in and drop your bags’ starter home in the heart of beautiful rural France or a really well sorted, cheap to keep holiday home then keep reading.

The house has been extensively renovated to include new wiring throughout and washing machine point, new shower and toilet. Floors sanded and sealed, windows stripped and newly painted. All exposed beams treated and sealed. Walls repaired and plastered or pointed where exposed stone plus a whole lot more!

3 stories comprising oak beamed kitchen/diner with Jotul wood burning stove that heats the whole house. Lounge, double bedroom, shower with W.C., cave (no access from the road) with well, loft. It is bigger than it sounds. Mains electric, water and sewage. Telephone and fast internet connection. (No garden but a totally private sun terrace plus other room could be added.)

Requista is a typical small French village, not Provence pretty, just a typical small village set in the heart of very peaceful sheep country and surrounded by forests and rivers. It has fabulous facilities and is a great base from which to explore on foot, by bike or car. The river Tarn is a few minutes drive away and a great lake for boating or swimming is only 18 klms away.

There is one very good supermarket in town (Shopi) and a large Intermarche supermarket within walking distance on the edge of town. There are several clothes shops, 2 flower shops, odds and sods shops, doctor's surgery, dentist, kitchen appliances shop, 2 local electrical shops, a very good butcher, 2 DIY merchants and a really friendly wine merchant just round the corner. There is a hunting / fishing / shooting shop where you can buy a fishing permit.

Rodez airport. one hour, Toulouse hour and a half, Carcassonne two and a half hours. Mediterranean coast two and a half hours. Spain three and a half hours.

If you are looking for a ‘move in and drop your bags’ small home in the heart of beautiful rural France then have a look at this cosy, comfortable house. Could be sold fully/partly furnished for a sensible negotiation.

We may consider a long term let or a swap. Just let us know what you have in mind.
