This Knights Hospitaller tower on the Gers/Haute Garonne border is surrounded by 20 hectares of its own woodland and meadows in the quiet countryside, yet only 30 miles from Toulouse, 35 from the airport, and approx. 40 from the Pyrenees and thence to Spain.
The second floor apartment has 2 double bedrooms, a large living-dining-kitchen, a luxury bathroom and separate w.c., a huge mezzanine and its own roof terrace with spectacular views of the chain of the Pyrenees. The kitchen is fully equipped with double sink, fridge-freezer, electric oven, 2 gas and 2 electric hobs, and a good range of small appliances. The furnishings are an eclectic mix of old and new, with antiques and comfort married together. You will have your own private garden area plus use of the sauna by arrangement. A spa may also be available. The rent includes background underfloor heating, water, unlimited ADSL and phone calls to fixed lines in most of Europe and the U.S. Electricity is separately metered and supplied at cost (off-peak rates); 2 of the 4 hobs use bottled gas, and there is a woodburning stove. Excellent markets and shops are within approx. 10 miles, and there is plenty of produce available at the farm gate. We have lived here for 9 years and are available for information and help on aspects of moving to, and living in, France, should you want to ask us! The atmosphere is quiet and conducive to work and relaxation, although our collies may want you to play. We welcome singles and couples, (non-smokers only please) and pets. We can pet-sit if you want to go further afield on site-seeing or house-hunting trips. Sorry, the apartment is not suitable for children.
