Le Clos is a stunningly renovated ‘longère’ farmhouse, offering wonderful French chic farmhouse accommodation, a comfortable 20 minute drive from Saumur. 

The Loire Valley is world famous for its fairy tale chateaux. Le Clos is situated at the edge of the village of Vernoil le Fourrier.  Here, just a few minutes down the road you will find the local boulangerie, bar and supermarket.

The Kitchen:  Let’s start in the amazing cathedral style kitchen with its double height beamed ceiling. Spacious and airy, this is bound to be the hub of life at Le Clos. It is equipped with micro wave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and ceramic hob, all in stainless steel. The dining table, situated in front of the huge floor-to-ceiling French doors (that was once the barn door), with views across the garden. The walls are in beautiful, natural stone, as is the case with much of the rest of the house.

The Lounge:  Then move through to the lounge with its exposed beams, The French doors open out onto the garden.  A large spacious room for family living.

The Downstairs Bathroom:  To compliment the two downstairs bedrooms there is an adjoining bathroom. This is equipped with a brand new double shower and ‘his and hers’ washbasins. The WC and washing machine are also in the bathroom.

Bedroom one : with its original stone fireplace and beamed ceiling, it comes with a super king sized bed.  There is access directly to the garden.  

Bedroom two : Also with its original fireplace, there is space here for two beds and there is direct access to the garden

The Mezzanine appartment:  or third bedroom is by far the largest and is located on the mezzanine floor and comes with its own private bathroom and dressing area 

Upstairs we have recently continued with the renovation and turned the next section into a glorious area to 'do what you like with'!  It is floored, dry lined and ready to run ... you can do choose what to do with it.  One very large bedroom, or add another bathroom, or even divide into two bedrooms

And wait for it, there is another  section yet to be renovated upstairs - a great project - you can either just shut the door on it and leave until you are ready to tackle it or start now!  Great potenital for a B&B.  We believe the convertible loft space is be 50sqm

In General

There is a constant supply of hot water from the boiler, and there is oiled fired central heating.  The house is cosy being south facing, and very quickly heats up, yet in the summer because of the stone walls, is cool and airy.  The entire house is double glazed.  The house is situatated in an acre of garden, enough for a football pitch, but not too much to manage easily.  

We rent the house out during the summer months and easily achieve £600 per week and we can recommend some very good caretakers who will tend the garden and do change overs. 

We are more than happy to negotiate an all in package for the furniture, fixtures and fittings.
