Situated in the Southern Vendée region of France and only 20 minutes from the beaches and La Rochelle, Yves and Michèle welcome you to their lovely Bed and Breakfast in Champagné les Marais.

At Les Claux Bleus, you will find peace and quiet, with an enclosed garden and swimming pool.

Two bedrooms available in this charming Bed and Breakfast. Open All Year. Well-behaved pets are welcome. Off-road secure parking.

All accommodation is on one level, so would be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

The house faces into a sunny courtyard area, with patio tables and chairs as well as a large built-in barbecue area and exterior kitchen. There are sun loungers for your use, as well as a lawned area for relaxing in or playing games with the children. The garden and pool area are shared with the property owners who live in the house attached to Les Claux Bleus.

The 8m x 4m pool (1.2m - 1.6m deep), has a security alarm and Roman steps down to the water. Surrounding the pool is a large patio area with sun loungers and deck chairs for your use. In the courtyard, apart from the parking area and pool, there is a large lawn in a sunny area of the garden - a great spot for the children to play in. (there are balls, boules and petanque available for your use).

The Bed and Breakfast is comprised of two separate parts: one side is a studio with two bedrooms (one double bed and two single beds) and a shower room; the other side is a studio with a double bed and single bed together in one room. This side also has a shower room.

Each side has its own TV with French channels and each has a separate entrance. There is plenty of storage space for clothes.

Each of the two shower rooms has a shower cubicle, hand basin, hairdryer and WC. Towels and bed linens are provided - but please bring your own beach and pool towels.

A washing machine, as well as a fully equipped kitchen, is available with prior consent of the owners.

The gardens are fully fenced in so would be suitable for young children and also small dogs.

Please note that this house has a No Smoking policy for all internal areas, however smoking is allowed in the gardens.

Location:
Les Claux Bleus Holiday Home is situated 20 minutes from coast of the Southern Vendée, in the village of Champagné-les-Marais. The village has a bakery, small grocery shop that also prepares take away pizzas, two restaurants, a pharmacy, and two hairdressers. The nearest large supermarket is in Luçon which is a 10 minute drive away.

It is approximately a 20 minute drive to the airport at La Rochelle and a 70 minute drive to Nantes Airport - car hire is available at both airports.

The house is approximately a 4 hour drive from St. Malo, 6 hours from Cherbourg and 7 hours from Calais.

Tourist Attractions:

La Rochelle
Only 40 minutes away is the lovely old port and town of La Rochelle. This is a great place for watching the world go by in one of the many harbour side cafés and restaurants. There is a fantastic aquarium in the centre of town and during the summer there are street entertainers around the port every night. A great place for shopping and good food!

The Beaches of the Southern Vendée
Les Claux Bleus is only a 25 minute drive to the sandy beaches of the Southern Vendée. You will be spoilt for choice with the wide variety of activities on offer - from surfing and bodyboarding to organised entertainment and firework displays. All of the beaches are safe for children, and many have life guards on duty during the summer months. You'll be able to relax and sun bathe, build sand castles and watch the sunset over the sand dunes.

Le Marais Poitevin & the Ruined Abbeys
To the south west of Les Claux Bleus lies the Marais Poitevin, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with ruined abbeys and hundreds of miles of canals. The abbeys are open throughout the year and events are held there throughout the summer and in the lead up to Christmas. There are often firework displays, medieval re-enactments and traditional markets in the grounds of the abbeys. The area around Coulon and Maillezais is a criss-cross of canals, the so-called Venise Verte! A great way to spend a relaxing day - having a guide punt you around the canals.

Fontenay Le Comte
The historic town of Fontenay le Comte is only a 10 minute drive away. Here you will find a great weekly street market, lots of restaurants, bars and shops and during the summer months there are festivals and carnivals. The Chateau de Terre Neuve is worth a visit and there is a thriving theatre in the town

Puy du Fou Theme Park
A journey back in time to the era of The Vikings,The Gladiators, the Musketeers or Medieval France in this world famous historical Theme Park. There is also a superb open-air show in the evening. Book well in advance!

Futuroscope
An Adventure Theme Park dedicated to the art of the cinema, where you can dance with robots, meet dinosaurs or fly through space. A fun day out for all the family! Don't miss the evening spectacular!
