'Alouette' is a charming courtyard cottage sleeping up to 5 in two double bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen with full range of utensils, cooker, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, crockery, glassware and microwave. Separate shower/toilet and a utility room with washing machine, iron, ironingboard, airer etc. (A folding bed is also available for a family of 5, as the double bedrooms are sufficient to fit 3 beds with comfort).

The lounge is equipped with a range of books, games, satellite HD TV/HD DVD player with expanding DVD library. It also has internet access via WIFI (Broadband).

For your exclusive use, the gated inner courtyard has space for your parking, BBQ facilities, summer kitchen, garden furniture and parasol.

Outside in our 1.5 acre garden, ball games, kite flying, croquet, boules in our Boules Court, frizbees, table tennis on our quality outdoor TT Table, are available, and by access via the courtyard door, you have the use of our super 11x7m illuminated, heated pool (shared) with beautiful views of the undulating countryside.

Bed linen, bath towels, pool towels and utilities are included in the price, as well as a Welcome Pack for weary travellers.

The kitchen has a log-burning stove, suitable for winter lets and for longer term lets for those house-hunting in the area. A €40 supplement p.w. is required for winter lets to cover your cost of a plentiful supply of logs.

'Alouette' is situated in a quiet hamlet amidst peaceful, undulating countryside, sunflowers and vines, perfect for that 'get away from it all' holiday, yet only 20 mins away from historic Angoulême with its culture, bars/restaurants, boutiques, museums and that Al Fresco meal at any time of the day.

Our local village is Mouthiers-sur-Boeme (4 mins), covers basic needs with mini-supermarket, 2 boulangeries, charcuterie, post office, bank, doctor, dentist, pharmacy , charcuterie and hairdressers. Larger supermarkets are at Villebois Lavalette and La Couronne (15 mins) and Chateauneuf (20 mins).

Local restaurants are at Mouthiers-sur-Boeme, Blanzac - 'La Diapason' (9 mins) and Nonac- 'Le grain de Sel' (12 mins), all supplying good quality lunches including wine for € 12. For 'Haute Cuisine'- Le Lavalette at Villebois Lavalette (15 mins) is a must, but book a couple of days in advance to avoid disappointment.

There are too many activities and sights to see to tell you here, but you could drop us an enquiry. Fishing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, golf at Cognac, boating, canoeing, river cruises, sailing are in abundance. As for sights, Angoulême is a 'must', so are Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, Brantome-sur-Dronne, Riberac, Cognac, Royan, La Rochelle, vineyards at Bordeaux, 'Futurescope' at Poitiers, 'Velo-Rail' (cycle rail) at Roumazières, all within a comfortable distance on un-cluttered roads from 'Alouette'.

Changeover Saturdays. Guests are requested not to arrive before 5 p.m., and to leave by 10 a.m. on the day of departure.

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure the initial enquiry, with the balance due within 8 weeks of commencement of the letting period. A € 200 Damage Deposit is also required at this time. The Damage Deposit will be refundable within 7 days of departure, subject to any discrepancies in the inventory check or leaving the property in an unacceptable condition.
