Come and stay in a charming cottage situated in Aubeterre Sur Dronne, a village officially named one of the most beautiful in France. It's a 3 minute walk to the centre of a bustling village with a delightful village square, and a 5 minute walk to the beach on the River Dronne which boasts a cafe, canoeing, childrens play area and sports courts. Aubeterre is a historic village with a 12th century underground monolithic church, and charming narrow streets that wind through hillsides scattered with white stone houses, ancient buildings and lovely shops.

The cottage boasts a cosy living room/dining room with lots of character features such as stone-tiled floor, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. It also has a large woodburning stove for those occasional chilly nights. The double sofa bed with metal-action frame provides versatile extra accommodation. A large pine dining table means that meals can be very sociable affairs with room for everyone round the table.

The main bedroom is reached by the rustic staircase leading out of the living room. The bedroom is spacious and airy with two large shuttered windows providing plenty of light. An en-suite shower room with toilet and sink also houses the washing machine and tumble drier. There is plenty of room for a travel cot if needed (supplied free of charge, but please bring your own bedding). Hair dryer, iron and ironing board provided.

The twin-bedded bedroom is reached via the second (steeper) staircase which is found to the rear of the kitchen. It has an en-suite bathroom with wc, washbasin and shower which overlooks the courtyard . It oozes character with exposed stone walls and an attractive, original stone fireplace.

The kitchen is well equipped with a bottled gas hob and mains electric single oven, double sink, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. Also in the kitchen are a small table and chairs. All crockery, glassware, cooking equipment and utensils are provided.

The lovely, secluded courtyard at rear of the property can only be accessed from the house, meaning that it is completely child friendly. A table, chairs and barbecue are provided. Take time to explore the quirky “cave” to the reary of the courtyard with its own separate wc, running water and balcony! Let the teenagers use it as a base, and the more hardy could even sleep there upstairs on the double bed if you or they need some space!
