Walnut Tree Cottage is spacious (130m2) and offers the perfect blend of olde world charm and modern convenience, a year round home from home. The pretty cottage on the edge of a small hamlet is surrounded by stunning countryside, most rooms have far reaching views. Many original features remain both inside and out which, along with the modern appliances, help make your stay both comfortable and memorable. In the newly decorated beamed sitting room there is an original open Charantaise fireplace, the old 'sejour' has a wood burning stove. Other rooms enjoy electric heating. We offer two bedrooms, the romantic master has an ensuite bathroom whilst the twin has an adjacent shower room with loo. Outside is a garden which enjoys both sun and shade. There is a beautiful sizeable terrace, the perfect place to enjoy alfresco dining or the odd glass of wine or two. Beyond this is a lawn and fruit and nut trees.

The cottage is peacefully situated but close to all the amenities you will need for a wonderful stay. The nearest village with shop, bar, restaurant is just two minutes away. A number of market towns are 15 minutes, each has their own distinct character and all have markets, supermarkets, swimming pools etc, a couple have chateau for you to visit. Angouleme is 30 minutes away and has all you would expect of a major city. There are many restaurants close by to suit all budgets and tastes. Nearby are a number of swimming lakes with clean beaches and cafe/restaurants. The sea is only 60km away. Brantome, St Emilion and Cognac are easy to reach by car. Why not visit Futuroscope or the interactive prehistoric centre near Cognac or get wet in the new indoor water park. Vineyards to visit seem to appear around every corner selling good and often cheap wine, pinot and cognac. Sports is a major attraction of the area, canoeing, horseriding, cycling and golf and so on are easy to arrange.
