The farmhouse at La Boirie is lovingly restored to retain it's character and sits on a plot of 4600m ² of mature gardens in a beautiful part of the Charentais countryside.  It is situated 1 hour south of Poitiers and 1/2 hour north of Angouleme..

The property is situated on the outskirts of the pretty hamlet Couture.  It is a short drive or cycling distance from the village of Aunac where there is a full array of amenities including a boulongerie and pattisserie, butchers, greengrocers, chemist, tabac and a restaurant. About 10/15 minutes drive away in either direction are the pretty market towns of Mansle and Ruffec which are positioned on The Charente river.  Here there are  supermarkets, cafes, some superb restaurants and plenty of activities such as canoeing, horse-riding, tennis, fishing, mini-golf, cycling and fishing.  The village of Verteuil is nearby and is listed for it's chateau and setting  There are also plenty of historic villages and towns of great interest in the local vicinity.
