The villa is built over four levels in a large fenced, 9000 sqm, well wooded and private location. It comprises two adjoining sitting rooms,separate dining room, kitchen, separate laundry room, hall, large bathroom, an additional toilet and three/four bedrooms. English TV and internet is provided.
The living areas comprising sitting room which has one step down to a very pleasant morning room [within the morning room are two comfortable sofa beds that will comfortably sleep four additional people, making a possible total of 11] From here there are beautiful views of the garden and the swimming pool and the distant hills of Provence. Other rooms include the dining room, separate Provencal styled kitchen and an entrance hall. An interesting feature is a wood burning fire that partially separates the dining from the sitting areas and can be enjoyed from both sides. All the rooms are open plan and are overlooked by a balustrade mezzanine area. This leads to two bedrooms and a modern bathroom comprising large shower, wash basin, toilet and bidet.
The principle bedroom has its own private, good sized balcony looking over the southern part of the garden and the splendid views towards nearby Salernes. The second bedroom leads to an attic bedroom. This is small and is only really suitable as a single room. Another bedroom leads from the morning room. This room has French windows that lead directly to the garden and pool area.
The twin circled pool with under water lighting has been recently renovated and has built in steps and seats to allow relaxation in the water. The surrounding area [plage] is large and has an equipped summer kitchen with BBQ and garden furniture. There are many sitting out areas in the grounds, well shaded with oak, mimosa and wisteria. A stream runs through the garden from which irrigation water is taken A delightful feature is a small fish pond stocked with goldfish who greet you every morning for their breakfast!
Salernes is a small market town and is surrounded by many very attractive hill top villages such as Tourtour, Aups, Ampus and many more. Noteable is Moustiers -Ste-Marie set on rocky cliffs and at the gateway of the Gorges du Verdon considered to be Europe's most beautiful gorge and the second largest in the world. This and the adjoining Lac de Ste Croix affords the visitor with a variety of opportunities such as walking, rock climbing,swimming, paddle boating and just lazing amidst the magnificent scenery.
