Sanary-sur-Mer is a seaside resort found between Bandol (direction Marseille) and Toulon, at the western end of the Cote d'Azur. This charming pink and white resort is popular year round, its little fishing port and marina surrounded by palm trees provides ongoing hustle and bustle – a large and well-renowned market is held here every Wednesday. The town and bay are protected from the Mistral by the wooded hills dominated by the Gros Cerveau massif (Big Brain Mountain). The Mediterranean atmosphere is everywhere: in the colourful facades, the lively streets, terraces shaded by palm trees, and the daily flower market that is held outside the town hall. From the top of Notre Dame de Pitie, there is a magnificient view of the islands Embiez, Rouveau, Pointe Negre, and the red rocks of the rough coastline La Cride. Every year the town organizes carnivals, evening crafts markets in the summer, and festivities such as bouillabaisse days, sardine days and other special events.

Activities:
There is a shoreline path that has been set up for those sports-minded visitors who like a challenge to their walks. Beach lovers will be delighted to know that due to more than 280 days of sunny weather in Sanary, swimming and all sorts of water sports are everyday activities here from May to October.
