The location:
Draguignan is a typical Provencal town, nestled in the hills of the Var. The old town offers plenty of interesting sites and shops to explore, and is the location of the great food market at the Place du Marche. Activities:
Cycling is a popular sport here and Draguignan was even on the 2009 Tour de France route. There are also several interesting hiking paths worth exploring and facilities for horse riding, swimming, stadiums for athletics, and clubs for martial arts, badminton, bowling, canoe-kayaking, dance, fencing and football.

Local food and gastronomy:
Fresh local produce includes olive oil, honey, tomatoes, peaches, garlic and herbs, fish, mussels, wild boar, truffles. Daube de Sanglier (wild boar) a la Provencale is a traditional autumn stew and fish dishes are also popular- bouillabaisse (fish stew), or escabeche (fish marinated in citrus juice). Provencal wines include full-bodied reds and roses from around Bando.
