This lovely vacation rental apartment is in the charming old town of Beaucaire, Gard, gateway to Provence and Languedoc in the south of France. Its large private terrace faces the River Rhône, across the river from the town of Tarascon in Provence. The handsome stone building was originally a rich merchant's mansion, named Hôtel du Luxembourg.
Recently renovated, the vacation rental apartment is quiet and sunny with 5 m (16 ft) high ceilings. It consists of three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen/dining room, a home office with ADSL broadband Internet and a WIFI signal, English-language satellite TV (with major UK channels) and a full bathroom and additional toilet. The kitchen was renovated in 2009. There is private parking in the building's garage. It is within walking distance of all Beaucaire’s attractions, from the picturesque ruined castle to the lively canal promenade, as well as restaurants, cafés and shops. Only 15 km from Arles and Saint Rémy and 25 km from Avignon, Beaucaire is an ideal touring base from which to explore Provence, the Camargue, the Languedoc and much of the south of France. Nearby attractions include Roman amphitheaters, castles, medieval villages, Van Gogh landscapes, open-air markets, horse-riding, wine-tasting and boating.
