Made up of 4 mountain hamlets, which stretch all along the Grandes Alpes' road, Vars has been able to combine the authenticity and charm of its traditional villages with the comfort of a winter sport resort. Vars, La Forêt Blanche, 1650-2750 m, union of the Vars and Risoul ski areas, offers a vast area of 180 km, 108 pistes and 47 Ski lifts. A great variety, an immense area for sport activities to discover the best of winter sports.
With a network of artificial snow over all the major routes, La Forêt Blanche guarantees quality snow cover from the 13th of December to the 26th of April 2009.
The forest's ski areas are so easily accessible, wherever holidaymakers are staying. From the heart of the resort or directly from the traditional villages, skiers can see most of the Forêt Blanche's pistes unveiled. Vars is one of the great altitude resorts because of its guaranteed snow cover, its large area, which make of Vars the 16th resort nationally.
