Les Pintreaux is a hamlet surrounded by dairy farms, arable fields and woodland. The centre of Fresne Cauverville is within walking distance with its church, mairie and epicerie. The nearby village of Lieurey has a supermarket, two bakers, two butchers a chemist and a bank. The attractive town of Cormeilles is ten minute’s drive away. The larger towns of Bernay, Pont Audemer and Lisieux are about twenty minutes away. Our house is secluded as it is approached by a long drive and the garden is bordered by mature trees and shrubs. We are only overlooked by beautiful Normandy cows from the farm which lies behind our land. To the front of the house there is a paved terrace which faces south and a lawn with ancient apple trees and flowering trees and shrubs. The drive passes a small colombage outbuilding which we use as a woodstore and continues towards the rear of the L shaped extension and a double garage. A stable door gives access to the kitchen and is the main entrance to the house. A short passage opens into the salon and a door on the opposite side of the kitchen leads into the sejour of the original building. The sejour or sitting room has two windows and two glazed doors facing the terrace and one window on the opposite wall looking out on the rear garden. This sheltered area has a tiled terrace, a small formal pond and a variety of shrubs and trees. A stone fireplace contains a large wood burning stove and an oak bressemer beam. There are many exposed beams throughout the original building. A staircase leads up to two double bedrooms. At the far end of the sejour there is a toilet with hand basin and plumbing for a shower. The original kitchen is currently used as a storage area. A glazed door gives access to the front terrace. The passage way to the sitting room passes a utility room containing a washing machine and electric water heater. Plumbing has been installed for a dish washer. The sitting room has a cathedral style roof with painted beams and there are two mezzanine floors. One is accessed from the internal staircase and the other from a traditional external oak staircase. It is a spacious well lit area with five large windows and French doors. The windows look out over the rear garden. The salon is heated by a brick built cheminé with a wood burning insert stove. The heat produced warms the whole of the extension. A passage leads to a large shower room with double hand basins and storage space. It would be possible to convert the shower room to a bath room. The third double bedroom is situated at the end of the passage. It has double aspect windows with a door opening onto the rear terrace.
