Our Agency

SARL SMJ Immobilier is an internet estate agency based in Poitiers and run by Bob Murray-Jones, a registered French estate agent, married to a French lady. We cover all regions in the western half of France.

Our aim is simple: to provide you with as much information about a property as we can so that, when you visit, there will be no bad surprises. We select our properties very carefully. If they are not suitable, we just don't take them on - it's unpleasant telling the owner, but your time is important and we don't want to waste it.

We visit each property, taking copious notes and measurements and masses of photos of the property and its surroundings, including the local village or town and the neighbouring properties. We also take photos of any downsides.

Usually about 40 photos are initially displayed on the web. On making contact with us, we will e-mail you a link for you to download a 'virtual visit' slideshow with usually more than 150 pics. And as it is a link, and not an attachment, it will not clog up your mailbox. If you do not have broadband, we will send you a CD.

The houses we sell start at about 250,000 € (all prices include our commission, but exclude notaire fees). The main dwelling will usually be in good condition. We don't do wrecks! There are no houses on busy roads, next to silos or in dull flat countryside!
