Property Description

UNDER CONTRACT

Beautiful 5 bedroom home. Priced for a fast sale.
Perfect as a holiday home or an escape to live in full time.

The house is 372m2 (4,004 square feet).

The large fully equipped country kitchen, with eat in table that can seat 8, gas oven and all necessary appliances, is the heart of daily living.

There is a comfortable dining room with seating for 12 and a working fire place, that leads to a separate comfortable living room, also overlooking the garden. The living room has two lounges including a double sofa bed for extra guests. There is satellite TV, good wifi to stay connected to the world, central heating throughout the house, mains electricity and mains water with a fosse septique.
Downstairs there is also a WC, a large entrance area that can double as a study and a laundry drying room, with a separate door on the northern side of the house.

The original oak staircase leads to the first floor which has 5 bedrooms all overlooking the extensive, fully fenced and private gardens. On this level there are 2 bathrooms plus 2 ensuites.
The stairs continue up to a 2nd floor full house size attic with potential for further development.

La grande Maison was built around the year 1800 and is a notable home in the area. It was extensively renovated by prior owners around 20 years ago and has been continually improved upon in recent years whilst allowing it to maintain its natural appeal.

There are brand new ceilings and lights throughout the whole house. The structural aspects of the house are all in good condition including the roof. New guttering was installed in the last 5 years.

There is a separate out building storage shed beside the house containing the boiler, washing maching and storage of garden tools.
There is also an extensive hanger (approx 12m x 15m).

The gardens are beautiful. There are mature fruit and nut trees (apple, pear, walnut, hazelnut, plus your own brambles in summer) and expansive space to run, play or just relax. They are fully fenced and private. There is also a lower paddock, fully fenced.

There is a private gravel driveway from the road leading to the house.

A relaxing holiday getaway or a full time home for if you are looking for the real French countryside. Just 30 mins from the coast and the famous cote de granite rose. It is also only 30 minutes to St Brieuc where there are weekly markets, many cafes and restaurants, including a Michelin starred restaurant.
From St Brieuc there are direct trains to Paris taking only 2.5 hours.

There are Supermarkets and local shops just 5 minutes away at Corlay and St Nicholas du Pelem including a large supermarche. There are traditional markets each week at towns just 15 minutes away at Rostrenen and in the historic town of Quintin.

There are many local attractions from local traditional Breton creperie restaurants, bar tabacs, cafes, pizza restaurants, and the summer Fez Noz events. There are many great seafood restaurants on the coast.
There are many activities to fill your days: Kayaking in and hiking around the Lac Guerlédan; the medieval Abbeye de Bon Repos; and the Nantes-Brest canal. There are other local lakes at Corlay and the forests at St Nicholas du Pelem.
Historical towns such as Pontivy and Josselin, near Brocéliande, the reputed forest of King Arthur, are a fun day out as are the megalithic standing stones at Carnac. The Unesco world heritage listed Le Mont St Michel is about 90 minutes away. There are horseriding and golfing options in the region.
Furthermore, the 2021 Le Tour de France will come within 5 minutes of the house as it passes from Mur de Betagne through Corlay.

The house is 90 minutes in either direction to Rennes or Brest, both of which have regional and international airports. There are also airports at Dinard and Nantes plus car ferry ports from the UK at Roscoff & Saint Malo, making it very accessible.

This is a lovely house, perfect as a full time retreat or as the perfect holiday home getaway. It has very good holiday letting potential with the market rate being upward of 1500 euros per week in the summer season.

It is available to purhcase fully furnished and equipped- buy and move straight in!
