Technically the town is situated within the Pays de la Loire region, but in many respects Gorron considers itself Norman, certainly the atmosphere and character of the town is typical of Normandy. Gorron has a good selection of shops and services as well as an excellent weekly market (Wednesdays) and a supermarket.
The house is easily reached from the channel ports of Caen (2hrs), St Malo (1hr30m) or Cherbourg (3hrs). There is also the airport at Dinard (1hr30m).
