The villa has 5 bedrooms, and downstairs is one large familial living space made up of two living rooms, dining room and kitchen opening through to each other. There are outside relaxing areas by the kitchen and living room, as well as around the pool, and these areas all have a great view, of the village of Saumane and down the valley to the Luberon. The wooded garden is on terraced levels and includes a boules court and local stone shepherd huts known as bories.

Outside
This house really comes into its own in the 6 months of summer, with its great view, pool, outside dining and relaxing areas, and boules court.
The property has 3400 m2 (36,600 sq ft) of land, which is mostly terraced with oak and olive trees.
The pool is on the upper terrace and measures 10m x 5m (33 x 16ft), with that lovely view of Saumane and beyond.
Below the pool, on the same level as the kitchen and living rooms are patios on two sides of the house. Outside the kitchen is the dining area under the shade of the pergola. Also on this level is a boules court edged with lavender.
The garden also comes with two 16th century bories, the stone huts typical of the region, and this tells you that a few centuries ago this hillside was terraced for olive cultivation, being right outside the walls of the village of Saumane.
The property has an electronic gated entrance and secure parking for several cars to the back, as well as a double garage.
Location
The house is in the historic, medieval village of Saumane de Vaucluse in the Luberon region of Provence.
Saumane is a very pretty perched village, typical of the region, with narrow cobbled streets, fountains, beautiful views, vestiges of the old ramparts, a 12th century Romanesque church, and a 14th century castle which is in private hands. Saumane has a tucked-away feel, it is in a little valley that ends on the plain of the Luberon, and wooded with pines and olive trees.
The Bistrot de Saumane is well rated and has a great view of the valley.
The real benefit of this location is that it is very quiet but in 7 minutes you can be in the town of l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with its full amenities: supermarkets, restaurants, cafes, schools for all ages, the pedestrian centre full of shops, medical facilities, not to mention its famous Sunday markets. L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is the antiques capital of France, and as it was built straddling the Sorgue river it is also known as the Venice of Provence.
The other perched villages of the Luberon are 10-20 minutes away, and the extraordinary source of the Sorgue river at Fontaine de Vaucluse is 5 minutes away.
For golfers a beautiful course awaits at Golf de Saumane, 5 minutes away.
