Property Description
This house will charm you with its original period elements and with truly stunning views of one of the most beautiful villages of France, and one of the most photographed.
The house consists of a ground floor with a bedroom and bathroom, and a summer kitchen. The bedroom could be divided into 2 separated bedrooms if desired.
Upstairs you will find a large living room with kitchen. A beautiful terrace leads from this room to the private garden, and excellent outdoor space.
On the 2nd floor you have a large bedroom which can be easily divided into 2 smaller separated bedrooms, and a bathroom.
This house is absolutely perfect as a great holiday home or successful rental, being set in a peaceful but appealing location, surrounded by stunning countryside and yet still close to shops.
Connected to the main drainage system, the property also benefits from an automatic garden watering system & is equipped with a burglar alarm. The owner is exceptionally meticulous about the maintenance of the property, right down to the central heating radiators having anti-freeze.The property is well insulated, but the official classification takes into account the original old building... Absolutely no work to do - just bring your suitcases. You could potentially purchase the house furnished.
Curemonte lies at the southern tip of the Corrèze, near the borders with the Lot and Dordogne departments. It is close to two other Plus Beaux Villages - Turenne and Collonges-la-Rouge, whilst just over the Lot border, you can enjoy Autoire, Carrennac & Loubressac.
There are three chateaux in Curemonte - the Chateau de Plas, Chateau de la Johannie & the Chateau de Saint-Hilaire. The village is also unspoiled by lots of gift shops and cafes, but there is a nice restaurant to enjoy a meal with a panoramic view. There is also a weekly “farmers market” held in the summer, where you can BBQ your own steak and enjoy a convivial meal with the neighbours.
There are numerous other tourist attractions locally, such as the Gouffres de Padirac, Rocamadour, and Sarlat. Nearest village with a selection of shops is Meyssac at 10 kms, although Beaulieu sur Dordogne is almost as close. Travel is easy with the A20 at around 30 minutes and the airport at Brive / Vallée de la Dordogne around 40 minutes drive.
