Description

We specialize is providing a perfect retirement village setting not isolated but individual houses. We help singles or couples make the transition to enjoy the best of the Normandy countryside. All the residents are Francophile's and enjoy best parts of the French way of life but yet only a short journey to other EU countries and the UK.

Most people live in France for 8 to 10 years before returning to their country of origin. Why buy and have the hassle of paying bills, agreeing and negotiating, paying taxes, getting repairs done quickly, who looks after the place when your not there. Renting provides a simple peace of mind solution whereby everything is taken care of.

The houses are either fully or part furnished and ready to go. Sharing utility costs means more money on your pension fund. Renting your house out in your original country rather than selling can mean you have more pension income to play with.

A community means people can feel secure and whilst everyone gets on with their lives there are people around to chat with.

We have residents from all over the world and some come not just for the French culture but also because of the french tax system which is interesting for retired people. Many EU countries tax pension income as earned income. The French system operate a slightly different approach. Please check out our website for more details to see how this works.

Many Retired people often own their own home and in some instances in lucrative suburban areas where rentals are a demand. Many retired people rent off their own homes retaining the asset and boosting their income by renting a lower cost rental in the village. For some retirees who live in cities such as London or Amsterdam this could boost your personal income by double.

Council tax and living tax are increasing all the time in most EU cities. The Village offers shared utilities which again reduces living costs and increases the money in your pocket.

We have two locations to choose from LaThebaudiere Torchamp 61330 and La Riverie, Hambye 50450. The recently added Riverie is only 15 minutes from the sea and 20 minutes from the wonderful port of Granville.

LaThebaudiere was originally a thriving farming hamlet set in 3 acres of land in the heart of the Cider and Poire growing region of Orne. The original owner was a wealthy Parisian who lived and farmed the cider region dating back to the 1600. Situated some 300 meters from the La Verenne river and set in the tip of the national park.

Please check out our website; www.retirementvillagesfrance.com

The village is set between Torchamp and Ceauce with Ceauce been the closest for all amenities such as banks, bakers, bars, butchers etc. The fortified town of Domfront dating back to the 1100 and founded by William the conquerer formally William of Normandy is 7 klm away and has all the larger supermarkets etc.

Domfront prides itself on its arts and music festivals held during the summer.

There is zero light, sound and smell pollution and the view of the stars at night is breathtaking. The tranquility makes it feel a little like Brigadoon for those romantically inclined.

Orne is a traditional Cider and Poire growing area and many of the local farms still continue to make their own produce and it is available in the local shops.

Each house over the last 400 years has been occupied and used by different people and animals alike and each house holds its own unique character. Each house has been named because of its history or what we found there during renovation.
The Mairie was the main dwelling of the owners . The Quincaillerie was previously a tool store and sleeping accommodation for farm workers. The Cave was a store for holding the oak barrels of Cider and Poire. The Poste was once a farm workers house, cow shed, shop and bar and is the oldest house in the village dating back to 1642. The Ecole was the fermentation store and farm workers living area. The building contained large Oak vats and has a split floor for gravity and siphoning. The Boulongerie is the bake house and contains a beautiful outdoor bread oven and stone chimney and was where the servants slept. Finally the Poulailler where livestock was kept and nurtured. Each house retains its wonderful A frame oak beams and there are glimpses of the original stone wall.

The village is ideal for retired/ semi retired couples. Each house has their own private garden and parking. The surroundings are beautiful especially the well stocked lake. It is a gated complex ideal for those who want to enjoy France but not feel isolated.

The ideal persons would be those who enjoy the country life and enjoy gardening. I am constantly there stocking the 3 acre site with plants and everyone gets involved in the planting and to chat about future projects, It has a really friendly atmosphere.

Each house is very deceptive from the outside and offer ample living space. The houses are well laid out, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathrooms with shower. Downstairs there is a living room dining and kitchen area. There is a log burner and oil/electric radiators. each house is fully double glazed and fully insulated. There is Wifi and ethernet broadband connection. The property comes partially furnished.

The houses are either fully furnished or part furnished based upon your requirements.

There is a small front garden and a private well stocked rear garden. There is private parking for up to 2 cars.

I like the residents to feel it is their home so i am always willing to accommodate long term residents with specific requirements.

We can assist people to make the transition to a french lifestyle. If your living in an expensive city you can rent your property and rent in the villages making an addition to your existing pension. Not selling but renting means your property continues to gain value.

Why buy in France with individual costs and standing charges. In the village the costs are shared along with utilities meaning your pension goes even further.
