Welcome to La Maison du Vigneron which is situated in a charming, wine producing village not far from Saumur in the Loire Valley. It sleeps up to 4 adults and has been lovingly restored to provide you with comfort, style and character whilst maintaining its original charm and character. The gardens and orchard look out onto vineyards beyond.

The Loire Valley is a very special area of France and one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, with a rich culture, famous for its enchanting châteaux, imposing river, great wildlife, and gastronomic food and wine. The gite is perfectly situated for visiting the famous Loire Valley châteaux and the numerous other places of interest in the area. It is great for wine tasting and relaxing, or for doing more active pursuits such as walking, cycling, canoeing and flying.

La Maison du Vigneron is situated in the historic, medieval village of Le Puy Notre Dame. This is a charming village set in a conservation area in the beautiful countryside of the Regional Loire-Anjou-Touraine Natural Park which is great for visiting the many local vineyards, walking and cycling. Le Puy Notre Dame is designated a “Village de Charme” and a “Petite Cité de Caractère” and is dominated by a massive collegiate church which dates back to the 12th century. The village bakery, where you can buy your fresh breakfast croissants, baguettes and other patisserie, is only a minute's walk away. The village also has a restaurant and a bar as well as a grocery shop, pharmacy, hairdresser’s and a garage. A much larger selection of supermarkets, shops, bars and restaurants is available only 10 minutes’ drive away in both nearby Doué la Fontaine and Montreuil Bellay.

La Maison du Vigneron is situated in a large courtyard and is part of a traditional “Corps de Ferme” (farmstead) with honey coloured limestone buildings.Many of our outbuildings were used for wine-making and some of which date back to the 18th century and beyond.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 is large with double bed and built in wardrobe. Bedroom 2 is large with twin beds and built in wardrobe.

Bathrooms: Each of the two bedrooms has their own modern en-suite bathroom with power shower, basin and toilet.

A baby's travel cot and highchair is also available on request if required.

Kitchen: There is an open plan country kitchen and lounge/dining area with beams. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped including a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric kettle and dishwasher. The glazed double doors open out from the kitchen onto the gîte’s own patio with a table and chairs, where you can enjoy al fresco dining.

Living Room: The lounge area has a large comfy sofa, armchair, coffee table, television and DVD/CD player. There is also a dining table and 6 chairs. There is central heating throughout for cooler seasons. Books, DVDs and games are also available. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided and these will be changed on a weekly basis.

The courtyard is spacious with a sun terrace, rose garden, lawn area and trees and also offers you secure, private parking (ideal for visitors with cherished cars or bikes). In addition there is plenty of other outside space with sun loungers and chairs where you can laze about and read, either in the sun or in the shade whichever you prefer. At the end of the courtyard, there is a gate leading to the large secret garden, orchard and a small swimming pool which is perfect for having fun or relaxing in. The garden is an ideal place to enjoy a glass or two of your favourite drink as you watch the sun set over the vineyards beyond. The swimming pool is secluded with decking and a sun terrace to relax on.

On your arrival, you will be invited to have an aperitif with the owners when you can discuss interesting places to visit, things to do and properties you are planning to visit. You will also receive a complimentary Welcome Pack in the gîte with a few basic food/cleaning essentials.
There is a shared utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, iron, hand basin and toilet adjacent to the gîte in the courtyard.
